Church tabernacle
Tabernacle finished with gold leaf and polychrome carvings:
Carved in pine and linden wood, it is finished with 22-carat gold leaf and all of the figures are polychrome carved.
Work notes:
- Clean the entire surface
- Fill fissures
- Make missing pieces
- Rebuild with Gilder’s clay base
- Gild all the damaged surfaces
- Retouch worn polychrome and polychrome new areas
- Give a patina to the areas that need it in order to match the old tones
